But you will receive power when the
Holy Spirit comes on you;
and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the ends of the earth." (NIV)
WHEN
a church accepts the Acts 1:8 challenge, IT commits to fulfill Jesus'
last spoken words
on earth by taking the gospel to its Jerusalem
(Portsmouth),
Judea (Virginia),
Samaria (our
nation),
and the ends of the earth (the whole world).
JERSALEM
Jerusalem Ministry and the Power of Prayer

Dayna Austin, Ceceilia Jones, Lois Brisbin, Dr. Philip Parker and Carol Rowe (shown in pictures)
We are an Acts 1:8 Church and in this verse, the Spirit gives us some promises.
With prayer at the helm of our committee, the purpose of the Jerusalem
Ministry is to build relationships with
the surrounding neighborhoods of Calvary Baptist Church so those
families will experience the love of Christ
through us and will accept Christ as their Lord and Savior that they may
feel the fullness of joy that Christ intends for all who seek Him.
On Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 6:00 p.m., heavens gates were bombarded
with prayers from the Jerusalem Ministry
here at Calvary Baptist Church. Lists were handed out and each child
(from infant to teen) was prayed for individually.
As we called the name of each child, the anointing of the Lord flowed
just as it did from Aaron’s beard.
