DEACONS’ DAY

This morning the deacons of our church will be in charge of the morning worship service.  They will be leading in prayer, sharing testimonies, delivering the children’s sermon, and proclaiming God’s word.  Our deacons are dedicated servants of the Lord.

PASTORAL CARE

Should pastoral care needs arise during the time that Philip and Hal are away, please contact Reverend George Brisbin (404-0666), Carl Gallup (503-3572) or call the church office.  They will do their very best to meet the needs of our church family.

FARM FRESH RECEIPTS

During January Farm Fresh will donate double points to our church for every dollar spent in their stores. If you shop there, save that portion of the receipt that reads, “Retain this receipt and give to your church for redemption by May 31, 2008.”  A box has been placed in the lobby for the receipts.

LADIES WINTER BIBLE STUDY

This winter we will be creating a Scrapbook Legacy of Faith:  This Is My Story by Lisa Welchel.  This Is My Story is a fun and rewarding adventure that guides women in creating keepsake “storybooks” that tell of God’s love and faithfulness.  Through daily Bible study and journaling activities, women remember and record the significant faith stories and spiritual markers of their lives.  Then they come together once a week for a time of fellowship, faith-sharing, and scrapbooking.  By the end of the study, each woman will have a beautiful storybook, which tells of her personal walk with God.  It will be a treasured heirloom for children, grandchildren, or other loved ones.  No prior scrapbooking experience is required!  The Bible Study will begin Saturday, February 2nd at 9:30 am and continue for 7 consecutive Saturday mornings.  Please see the bulletin board outside of the sanctuary or contact Connie Powell (399-1050) for more information and to sign up.

BRUNSWICK STEW

Emily Green Shores is taking orders for their Brunswick Stew fundraiser.  Cost is $7 a quart.  Order by Monday, February 5th and pick-up on Tuesday, February 12th, at Emily Green, 500 Westmoreland Ave., between noon and 5:00 PM.  You may place orders with Cindy Kochersperger or Carol Rowe, or call Emily Green Shores at 399-3442.

WOMEN OF FAITH

This year our Baptist Women’s group would like to organize a trip to Washington, D.C. for the “Infinite Grace Conference.”  The conference will begin Friday evening, July 11th at 7:00 pm and conclude Saturday, July 12th at 6:00 pm.  We will plan to leave the church early Friday and return Saturday evening.  If you are interested in attending this conference please call Connie Powell at the church office (399-1050) and have your name added to the list.
