GIVE TO ANNIE ARMSTRONG
Three out of four people in North America are lost.
One hundred percent of dollars given to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering go
to support missionaries and their ministries in the United States, our
territories, and Canada. Calvary’s goal is $3,000. The children will have a
North American Mission Study this Wednesday, featuring “The Dynamic Duo,” the
directors of the Friendship Baptist Center in Des Moines. Adults will continue
their NAMB study Wednesday evening.
INASMUCH MINISTRY
Calvary will be participating hosting the homeless beginning this evening and
continuing through Tuesday night. If you would assist with this special
“Jerusalem” ministry or have any questions, please contact Regina Harrington
(966-7044) or Lois Brisbin.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER CANCELLED
The Wednesday Night Dinner has been cancelled this
week because of our ministry to the homeless. All of our other Wednesday night
activities will meet at their regular times.
EASTER LILIES
You may order Easter lilies by
contacting Betty Buchanan or stopping by the church office. The cost is $10.00
per plant and the money is due when you place your order. Deadline for placing
your order is Tuesday, March 18th.
GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES
On Friday, March 21st, Cottage Place United
Methodist Church will have a 3 hour service, beginning at 12:00 noon and ending
at 3:00 p.m. Six local pastors, including our own, will speak in half hour
segments on the last words spoken by Christ as He hung on the cross. Special
music will be presented by local musicians. You will be free to come and go as
your personal schedule permits. That same evening we will have a special
service here at Calvary beginning at 7:00 p.m. We will focus on the sacrificial
death of Christ and its meaning for our lives through a special chalk drawing
and devotional.
CHOIR CANTATA
Next Sunday the Adult Choir will be presenting “You
Are My King”, an Easter Cantata celebrating the life, death, and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. You will not want to miss this special presentation during the
morning worship service on Palm Sunday.
FLOWERS
FOR THE CROSS
Please plan to bring flowers to cover the cross for
Easter Sunday.
