GOOD FRIDAY SERVICES
This Friday, March 21st, we will have our third annual Good Friday service here at Calvary beginning at 7:00 p.m. We will focus on the sacrificial death of Christ and its meaning for our lives through a special chalk drawing and devotional. Earlier in the day, Cottage Place United Methodist Church will have a 3 hour service, beginning at 12:00 noon and ending at 3:00 p.m. Six local pastors, including our own, will speak in half hour segments on the last words spoken by Christ as He hung on the cross. Special music will be presented by local musicians. You will be free to come and go as your personal schedule permits.
EASTER SUNDAY
Next Sunday we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Be sure to bring your flowers to cover the cross in the front of the education building. You are also invited to enjoy hot cross buns, juice, and coffee at 9:00 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Our time of Bible Study will begin at 9:30. The morning worship service at 11:00 will include lots of special music by our choir, handbells, and orchestra as well as a dramatic presentation during the pastor’s sermon. Plan to attend and be sure to invite your friends.
EASTER LILIES
You may order Easter lilies by contacting Betty Buchanan or stopping by the church office. The cost is $10.00 per plant and the money is due when you place your order. The deadline for orders is this Tuesday, March 18th.
NORTH AMERICAN MISSIONARIES
Though their stories and methods are different, they live with urgency to change the world. Whether it is starting a new church, meeting the needs of the homeless, leading worship at a ski resort, or leading Back Yard Bible clubs, missionaries depend on the faithful prayers and generosity of Southern Baptists. Please pray for our missionaries and give generously to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Calvary’s goal is $3,000 toward which we have raised $1,060 thus far.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNERS
All of our regularly scheduled activities resume this week beginning with our Wednesday Night Dinner at 5:30 p.m.
LAWN DAY
It’s time to trim the shrubbery and spruce up the flower beds around the church. We’ll meet between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 Noon on Saturday, April 5th. Come on out and help us make our church’s facilities a more beautiful place in which to worship the Lord.
